About Dave
David is a Chemical Engineer by training, a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the UK’s IChemE, as well as a senior member of AIChE and ISA. David started his career in engineering in the UK in 1985 with various positions in process engineering, automation, IT, project management and operations management.
Dave has spent the last two decades helping companies improve safety by addressing the needs of the operators. In 2007, having met Ian on a control room project, he joined UCDS for the first time. He spent the next few years working on a range of operator performance projects under Ian’s mentorship. David then worked for a systems integrator for a while before returning to UCDS in 2011 as the VP of Operations. In 2018 David joined Emerson where he was an operator performance consultant, resource manager and an industrial software solution consultant. He rejoined UCDS in 2023 as President, taking over the running of the company from Ian whilst continuing to act as a consultant on client projects.
Dave has been an ISA Senior member for over 20 years!
