Myth: UCDS only does alarm management, HMI and control room services!

Although our focus is on human factors there are other aspects to this that perhaps you have not considered that we can help with. Although we are not a systems integrator, we offer services that help with integration. Many systems integrators-despite their claims, have limited experience in these areas. Below are some of these services you would perhaps not have considered that we offer.

For example, for alarm management and HMI, we do not just write standards, we can help in the design process for both. For alarm management we offer both static and dynamic alarm rationalization services and with our process knowledge can lead your teams in traditional rationalization meetings or perform pre-rationalization where we take a significant amount of work off of your valuable resources. With respect to HMI, we do not engineer graphics, but we either lead your teams in design workshops for L1-L4 graphics, or can perform pre-design, where again we take some of the burden off your team. In both cases the output is ready for your team or a 3rd party to configure in the platform of choice.

Similar to dynamic alarm design is procedural automation design. Where using the same state based, equipment centric approach, we can design your procedural automation logic.

We also recognize that many companies are trying to digitally transform, and this is not as easy as throwing software at the problem. This impacts operations and other functions, and can, if not approached in a systematic way, lead to tremendous waste of money and loss of return on your investment.
